I finally start my new job on Tuesday! I’m beyond excitement at this point – I have been ready for a change for so long that it seems kind of surreal. It’s not a complete change yet, since I’m starting part-time at the new job and staying part-time at the old one, and then moving to full-time after two weeks, but it’s change nonetheless.
But it’s happening! After almost a year to the day of searching and wondering if I’d ever find a job, I’m starting at one that I’m actually excited about. I’m nervous too, but more excited!! I’ve wanted to work in non-profit for such a long time now; it just seems like a perfect fit for my values and my gifts, and I couldn’t think of a better organization or more dedicated people to work with. It’s all coming together!
I know God kept this for me for that year of searching, and it’s amazing to see how His timing is more perfect than anything I could imagine. I was just thinking about some of the other jobs I interviewed for, and I’m almost positive that by now I would have been miserable. I can’t wait to see how His timing plays out in the other areas of my life – life is such an exciting journey.
